Aburrido?
Jack Common, asserted that going to school had taught him one essential faculty, "with which every school infallibly endows its pupils, that of being bored. It is important, of course, that every child should in the course of time become fitted up with this negative capability. If they didn't have it, they would never put up with the jobs they are going to get, most of them, on leaving school. Boredom, or the ability to endure it, is the hub on which the whole universe of work turns."

Disciplina < Curiosidad
"No amount of discipline can replace genuine curiosity."

Grades don't measure anything other than your relevant obedience to a manager.
Excelente entrevista con John Gatto :).
Algunas partes interesantes:
Schools, he says, are irremediably broken. Built to supply a mass-production economy with a docile workforce, they ask too little of children, and thereby drain youngsters of curiosity and autonomy.
...the truth is that genius is an exceedingly common human quality, probably natural to most of us.
Memorizing notes off the board is not real work.
To teach people that we work to get money to buy stuff is insane...
...a school system, since it's an indoctrination system...
"Changing classes lasts 300 seconds to keep promiscuous fraternization at low levels."

Contradicción? O no.
Education is an admirable thing, but it is well to remember from time to time that nothing that is worth knowing can be taught.

“Thomas Stanley has not only found no correlation between success in school and an ability to accumulate wealth, he’s actually found a negative correlation. ‘It seems that school-related evaluations are poor predictors of economic success,’ Stanley concluded. What did predict success was a willingness to take risks. Yet the success-failure standards of most schools penalized risk takers. Most educational systems reward those who play it safe. As a result, those who do well in school find it hard to take risks later on.”

Stop wasting your life and go get started
De slashdot...
You've wasted enough of your life in school. Go DO stuff. How many years did you spend not making shit income in school and how much money did you spend to be there? Imagine what you could have done with that time if you'd gotten a computer, some books, and gone about making shit happen?
Education is what employers settle for when they can't get their hands on someone with experience. Stop wasting your life and go get started.

"America's high schools are obsolete," Gates said
